A Chronicle of Memorial Day and Blooms

Sentiments usually don't find their place in our busy routine. Maybe that is exactly why we need a special day to acknowledge them. Memorial Day is one such American holiday, observed on the last Monday of May. The intention behind this holiday is honoring the men and women who left for heavenly abode while serving in the U.S. military. This year, as it's the last Monday of the month, it will fall on May 31st.

Memorial Day is celebrated in the United States with great pomp. There are parades everywhere which mostly involve military personnel. Some of the most magnificent ones are from New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C. This day also indicates a long weekend as it falls on the last Monday in the month of May, obviously after the weekend.
